Polar Plunge: Temps Dropping Over Weekend

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Another polar plunge is on the horizon for Chicago.

Following Friday's moderate temperatures, with highs in the low 40s, arctic air will descend over the weekend, CBS 2's Megan Glaros reports.

By Sunday, expect highs in the single digits, and Monday morning could greet commuters with below zero temperatures.

As the weather shifts, some scattered snow showers will enter the picture on Saturday evening and early Sunday morning.

However, no significant accumulation in expected. Many areas may not see any snow at all.

By Tuesday, temps are expected to rise to a bit more tolerable level, with highs in the low 20s.
