'Pneumonia Front' To Send Temps Plunging Along Lake

CHICAGO (CBS) -- After enduring things like "The Ring Of Fire" and "The Polar Vortex", Chicago residents near the Lake are about to experience "The Pneumonia Front."

A cold front swept in from over Lake Michigan Tuesday afternoon and sent temperatures plunging in just a few minutes.

The front will also brought some showers and storms, especially north near the Wisconsin border.

As of 4 p.m. temperatures were already falling into the 50s along the lake in the far north suburbs.

Temperatures along the lake on Wednesday will only be in the 50s or 60s, with high temperatures (around mid-70s) away from the water.
