Plane Crashes At Rockford Airport, 4 Injured

(CBS) -- Four people were injured Monday evening when a passenger plane crashed at Rockford's airport.

The King Air twin engine C90 craft was arriving at Chicago Rockford International Airport around 6:30 p.m. when it came in short of a runway, hit a ditch and bounced over a fence, authorities said.

All four people on board survived, and two people had to be extricated.  All were transported to area hospitals.

Officials say it was a windy night in Rockford, but it's unclear whether the weather played a role in the crash.

Federal authorities were investigating.
