Pirates' Sean Rodriguez Apologizes To All -- Gatorade Cooler Included -- For Wild-Card Rage

(CBS) Wednesday night didn't go well for Pirates infielder Sean Rodriguez.

He was slotted into the starting lineup at first base for defensive purposes, but he bobbled a ball in the first inning to allow a Cubs runner to reach. With a lesser bat than Pedro Alvarez, he never got a chance to swing, as he was pinch hit for with Pittsburgh falling behind early.

Then in the seventh inning after the benches cleared following Cubs ace Jake Arrieta being hit by a pitch, Rodriguez was aggressive in the middle of the skirmish, even throwing a punch that didn't land.

He was then ejected, but not before freaking out on a Gatorade cooler, Muhammad Ali-style: three hard punches.

On Thursday, Rodriguez apologized on Twitter and even did so with a sense of humor, saying the cooler has forgiven him.
