Pickup Truck Crashes Into Streeterville Storefront

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A pickup truck crashed through the front of a furniture store in the Streeterville neighborhood early Wednesday, and the driver fled the scene.
Police said the truck crashed into the front of CORT Furniture Rental, in the 500 block of North Lake Shore Drive, at around 2:20 a.m.
The driver apparently was heading the wrong way on Inner Lake Shore Drive at a high rate of speed, and jumped a curb, smashing through the front of the store.
The truck narrowly missed crashing into support walls and a large concrete planter, and crashed through glass windows facing the street.
A witness said driver ran away after the crash, and appeared to be intoxicated.
Police said nothing was reported stolen from the store.
