Photo Of Ice Damage On Trees Along Kankakee River

By John Dodge

CHICAGO (CBS) -- The massive amount of ice that developed during one of the coldest winters in Chicago history is slowly melting and revealing the damage left in its wake.

A photo posted on Facebook by the Chicago office of the National Weather Service shows a tree trunk that was cut apart by an ice jam on the Kankakee River near Kankakee River State Park.
