Person Seriously Hurt In Police-Involved Shooting

(STMW) -- A person was seriously hurt in a police-involved shooting on the Northwest Side Friday evening.

The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of North Harding, according to Independent Police Review Authority spokesman Larry Merritt.

One person -- a male whose age was not immediately known -- suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in serious-to-critical condition, Chicago Fire Deptartment spokesman Joe Roccasalva said.

Police could not immediately provide details on the incident.
