The three were standing on the corner in the 9700 block of South Lowe Avenue about 6 p.m. when a group of males approached and one started firing, police said. The group then ran away.

A 14-year-old boy was shot in the right thigh and was in "stable" condition, and another 14-year-old boy was shot in the head and body, and was in critical condition. Both were taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers in Evergreen Park.

Detectives are questioning the boy in the case Tuesday evening, according to police, who declined to release further details.
