Person In Custody After Exchanging Shots With Police

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Chicago Police took a male into custody early Thursday after he exchanged gunfire with officers in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The male, whose age was not immediately known, fired shots at police officers about 2:50 a.m. near 64th Street and Campbell Avenue, police said. Police returned fire, but no one was injured in the shooting.

The male was arrested and charges were pending Thursday morning, police said.
