Joliet Man Found Dead In Lewis University Dorm

(STMW) -- A Joliet man visiting a friend at Lewis University was found dead Thursday morning in a campus dormitory at the southwest suburban school.

Elvis Dominguez-Mejia, 22, was found dead in Fitzpatrick Hall in Romeoville about 10:30 a.m., according to police and a statement on the university website.

Dominguez-Mejia was visiting a friend who is a student at Lewis University, Romeoville Deputy Police Chief Steve Lucchesi said.

The cause of death appears to be excessive alcohol consumption, Lucchesi said. No foul play is suspected.

There was no threat to the campus and the university remains open, the school's statement said.

"The Lewis University Community expresses its prayerful sympathy to all who are touched by this tragedy especially family and friends," the statement said.

Romeoville police and the Will County Coroner's office are investigating.
