Pedestrian critically injured in hit-and-run on Northwest Side of Chicago

Police searching for SUV involved in hit-and-run crash

Chicago police are searching for an SUV involved in a hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian critically injured early Wednesday morning on the Northwest Side of Chicago.

Police said the vehicle involved, a dark gray 4-door SUV with yellow temporary plates, hit the victim crossing the street at the intersection of Diversey and Central Park avenues, along the border between Logan Square and Avondale.

The driver did not stop.

Paramedics rushed the victim to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

The Chicago Police Department Major Accidents Investigation Unit was investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
