PECOTA Projections: How Many Wins Are Cubs, White Sox Pegged For?

(CBS) Spring training hasn't started yet, but Tuesday was a big day in the baseball world.

PECOTA, the famed sabermetric system for forecasting players' performance, released its projections for the 2014 season. Where did the Cubs and White Sox stack up after disappointing 2013 seasons?

About where you'd expect in their respective divisions, though perhaps with a few more wins than anticipated. Coming off a 63-99 season, the White Sox are projected to go 75-87, taking fourth in the AL Central, ahead of Minnesota. The Cubs are projected to go 71-91 after a 66-96 campaign a year ago.

PECOTA was most bullish on the Dodgers, who were projected for 98 wins.
