Parts Of Will County Near Wilmington Being Evacuated Due To Flooding
Chicago (CBS) -- Emergency agencies, including Will County Emergency Management and the Will County Sheriff's Office, are advising residents to evacuate the Phelan Acres subdivision in Wilmington due to rising water and ice moving through the Kankakee River.
Authorities say residents should be prepared to be out of their homes for at least a few days.
Roads around Cottage and Lorenzo, Will and Willow, Blodgett and Kelly, Will and Lorenzo and Will and Cottage are closed. Houses along Cottage Road have been evacuated.

Blodgett Road and I-55 to Will Road have been closed due to water on Blodgett.
The City of Wilmington is not currently affected by the water.
Residents can call 815-724-1617 for updated information. There is no voicemail available, so residents are asked to call back if no one answers.

As of 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, the sheriff's office said no new areas along the river had been identified as being on heightened alert.
Harold Damron, the director of Will County Emergency Management, will have an update at 3 p.m. at the City of Wilmington Village Hall.
