Palmer Calls Bears NFL's 'Best' Organization After Being Cut

(CBS) Even in his release from Chicago, Jordan Palmer displayed the utmost class.

After being cut by the Bears on Sunday, Palmer took to Twitter later in the evening to share his appreciation for his time in Chicago. He called the Bears the "best" organization in the NFL and said he'll always support the franchise.

In another tweet, Palmer added the Bears are a Super Bowl-caliber team, though coach Marc Trestman has told players to not make such predictions.

Palmer's future remains unclear at this moment. At 30 and having had a fair chance to win the backup job in Chicago but failing to do so, his best years would seem to be behind him -- but there remains the chance that he could land on a team's practice squad.

With Palmer out of the picture, Jimmy Clausen is now Chicago's No. 2 quarterback. The Bears still have quarterback David Fales on their roster too, and he's a candidate to be placed on the practice squad.
