No Injuries Reported In Palatine Condo Building Fire

CHICAGO (CBS) -- No injuries were reported after a fire Sunday evening at a two-story condominium building in northwest suburban Palatine.

Firefighters responded at 5:06 p.m. following a report of smoke coming out of a second floor storage unit in the eight-unit building at 1905 N. Hicks Road, according to a statement from the Palatine Fire Department.

Firefighters had to open walls and the ceiling to expose the fire, but were able to put it out with a water fire extinguisher, the statement said.

The fire was under control at 5:24 p.m. No one was injured in the blaze, which caused minor damage to two units, the statement said. Firefighters continued to ventilate the building of smoke and gases and perform "salvage and overhaul activities" after the fire was out.
