Pakistani-Americans March Downtown To Protest Taliban Attack On School

(CBS) -- Some members of Chicago's Pakistani-American community came out to the Loop Saturday to protest the Taliban's attack on a school in Pakistan earlier this month.

WBBM's Nancy Harty reports they carried signs that read, "Friend of the Taliban is an Enemy of Pakistan" and "Smallest Coffins are the Heaviest."

About two dozen people stood along Michigan Avenue downtown looking to direct outrage over the December 16 attacks on a military-run school that killed 148 students and staffers.

Rehan Rizvi says the Taliban and ISIS are both terror groups distorting what it means to be Muslim.

"That's a barbaric attack and we always condemn the Taliban and their actions but this is something that is really outrageous," he said.

Protesters say the public here must show their outrage over the attack so the Pakistani government will work harder to root out the terrorist group.
