Overnight Lane Closures On Lake Shore Drive Begin Sunday

(STMW) -- Overnight lane closures on northbound Lake Shore Drive are scheduled to begin Sunday for beam erection as part of the Interstate 55 and Lake Shore Drive Interchange Project.

Starting at 1 a.m. Sunday, all northbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive will be closed at the I-55 interchange until 7 a.m., according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Starting at 1 a.m. Monday, all lanes will be closed at the interchange until 5 a.m. The lanes will be closed from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday, according to the statement.

A posted detour will direct northbound Lake Shore Drive traffic to the southbound I-55 ramp to exit at State Street. Drivers will then re-enter the northbound Stevenson and use the eastbound Stevenson to the North Lake Shore Drive ramp.
