Overnight Burglaries Targeting Stores In Lake View, Lincoln Park

(STMW) -- Police are warning store owners about four recent retail burglaries that happened in the overnight hours in the Lincoln Park and Lake View neighborhoods.

In each case, a suspect shattered the front glass door or window in order to get inside, Area North detectives said in an alert. The burglaries happened:

About 1:15 a.m. July 5 in the 3800 bock of North Broadway,
About 3:45 a.m. July 6 in the 3400 block of North Clark,
About 3:45 a.m. Thursday in the 2900 block of North Broadway, and
About 4:15 a.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of North Clark.
In the July 6 burglary, the suspect appeared to be a black man between 5-foot-8 and 6-feet, and between 180 and 200 pounds, police said. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and eyeglasses with thick black frames.

Business owners should make sure their properties have an alarm system and working video surveillance, police said.
