Online Calculator Can Help You Decide If You Should Switch Your Electricity Supplier

(CBS) -- If you live in the city of Chicago and pay an electric bill, spending a couple minutes looking at your bill could save big bucks.

Everyone used to have ComEd in Chicago, but then the city worked out a deal with alternate supplier Integrys in 2012.

Some 700,000 people switched and saved money, but now power prices have changed and in some cases ComEd could be cheaper. It all depends on the monthly fee you pay and how much power you use.

A simple online calculator created by the Citizens Utility Board at chicagopowercalculator.com can help you decide.
