One Woman Killed, Four Injured In Aurora Crash
(CBS) -- Aurora police say alcohol was believed to be a factor in a single-vehicle crash Saturday morning that left a Chicago woman dead and four passengers seriously injured, reports WBBM's Mike Krauser.
The driver, according to Aurora Police, 21-year-old Porce Robinson from Chicago, was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Farnsworth in a Chevy Malibu when she lost control and slammed into a utility pole at Grove Street at around 2:20 a.m. Saturday.
Two passengers were ejected and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passengers included three Aurora women, 23, 30, and 34, and a 24-year-old woman from Montgomery and all were badly hurt.
The impact brought down power lines, knocking out electricity for 164 ComEd customers.
Police say they found open alcohol in the car.
