One Killed, One Wounded In Rogers Park Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was killed and another was critically injured in a Rogers Park neighborhood shooting early Wednesday on the North Side.

Officers responding to a call of a person shot at 4:10 a.m. in the 1700 block of West Touhy Avenue found the men shot in an alley, police said.

Albert S. Turnage, 23, was shot in the chest and a 30-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds to the shoulder, arm, back and buttocks, authorities said.

Turnage, of the 1700 block of West Greenleaf, was pronounced dead at Presence Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston at 6:37 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The other man was taken to Saint Francis in critical condition, police said.
