One Killed In Far South Side Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A person was killed in a Far South Side traffic crash early Thursday, police said.

The single-car crash happened about 2 a.m. in the 12000 block of South Avenue O, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The female drove a Dodge Neon through a fence before the car flipped over, Alfaro said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her age wasn't immediately known. No one else was in the car.

The Cook County medical examiner's office could not immediately be reached to confirm the fatality.
