One Hurt When Taxi Strikes SUV Downtown

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man suffered minor injuries after an SUV and a taxi collided downtown late Monday night.

A taxi driver was southbound on Michigan Avenue about 11 p.m. when his car collided with a 2004 Ford Escape going east on Monroe Street, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The SUV was rolled onto its side after the crash as police investigated.

The 49-year-old man driving the cab was treated and released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Greer said. The Ford's driver, a 50-year-old woman, refused medical attention, Greer said.

No citations were filed in connection with the crash early Tuesday, Greer said.
