One Dead In Tri-State Tollway Crash

CHICAGO (CBS) -- One man was killed early Tuesday, when two cars and a semi-trailer truck collided on the Tri-State Tollway.

Illinois State Police said a car crashed into the back of a semi in the northbound lanes of the Tri-=State, just south of the Reagan Memorial Tollway. A second car crashed into the back of the first.

One man was killed in the crash.

At least three lanes of the northbound Tri-State were closed while police investigated. Traffic was getting by on the far left lane and left shoulder. Police said the lanes would be closed "for a while."

Traffic in the northbound lanes was backed up as far south as 111th Street, and delays also were impacting the Stevenson Expressway where it intersects with the Tri-State.
