One Dead After Van Crashes Into CTA Bus

CHICAGO (CBS) -- One person was killed after a van crashed into a CTA bus on Wednesday morning.

The accident, which occurred in the 9300 block of South Commercial, also sent three people to the hospital.

Police say a green van collided with the bus around 1 a.m. and burst into flames.

The bus was traveling southbound in the 9300 block of South Commercial Avenue and the van was traveling eastbound on East 93rd Street.

Witnesses helped pull two people from the wreckage of the van. They were transported to local hospitals.

The driver of the bus, which did not have any passengers at the time of the accident, was also taken to the hospital in stable condition.
