O'Hare And Midway Rank Near The Bottom In On-Time Departures

CHICAGO (STMW) -- O'Hare International and Midway airports came in near the bottom of the barrel for March on-time departure rates, new data released Thursday showed.

Midway was dead last among 29 major airports, with a 65.87 percent on-time departure rate, down from 69.80 percent the previous March.

O'Hare came in No. 26 of 29 airports surveyed by the U.S. Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Its on-time departure rate was 72.34 percent — a slight improvement from 71.78 percent the previous March.

Based on on-time arrival rates, O'Hare came in second-to-last, at No. 28, with a 73.10 percent on-time rate, down from 76.44 percent the previous March.

Midway's ranking was a much higher 19, with a 76.34 percent on-time arrival rate — down from 79.04 percent in March 2013.
