Officials: 1 Dead After Being Pulled From Lake In Rogers Park

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man in his 30s died after being pulled from Lake Michigan Sunday afternoon in Rogers Park on the North Side, officials said.

Emergency crews were called at 2:14 p.m. to the beach at Loyola Park near Sheridan Road and Greenleaf Avenue, according to police and fire officials. A kayaker had brought the man to shore and started performing CPR by the time paramedics arrived.

He was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston and later pronounced dead, officials said. The Cook County medical examiner's office did not immediately confirm the death.
