GoFundMe Shuts Down Several Phony Fundraisers For Officer Ella French

CHICAGO (CBS) -- GoFundMe said it has shut down several phony fundraisers set up in the name of slain Chicago Police Officer Ella French.

The site is also watching closely to see if any others pop up.

We found at least one legitimate GoFundMe that raised more than $7,000 for the officer's family.

To be safe, the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation is urging anyone to donate to give directly to them.
