NW Indiana Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Girlfriend's Child

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A northwest Indiana man is behind bars Monday after being charged with sexually assaulting his girlfriend's child in northwest suburban Woodstock.

Woodstock police were called to a home in the 1500 block North Seminary Avenue about 11 a.m. Sunday to a report of the sexual assault of a child under 13.

After meeting the victim, the victim's mother and the mother's boyfriend, officers took the man—34-year-old Anthony N. Williams—in for further questioning, a statement from police said.

Williams, of the 2100 block of West 2nd Avenue in Gary, Ind., was later charged with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a class X felony, police said.

He remained in the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility on a $150,000 bond as of early Monday afternoon, and is next scheduled to appear in court May 6 in Woodstock.
