North Suburban Liquor Store Robbed At Gunpoint

(STMW) -- Police are searching for the person who robbed a north suburban liquor store on Friday morning.

About 11:30 a.m., the armed man entered Gages Lake Food and Liquor in the 18000 block of Old Gages Lake Road in unincorporated Lake County and forced the wife of the store owner to empty the cash register, according to a statement from the Lake County sheriff's office.

He then stole her purse and made off with about $200, police said. He was carrying a small silver snub-nosed revolver, according to the statement.
