82-Year-Old Woman Dies In North Lawndale Fire

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A woman died in a fire Sunday afternoon in her North Lawndale neighborhood home on the West Side.

Crews responded at 2:35 p.m. to the blaze on the second floor of a home in the 1500 block of South Central Park, according to Fire Media Affairs.

During the primary search, Dorsey L.Calhoun, 82, was found and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, initially in critical condition, according to Fire Media.

Calhoun was pronounced dead less than half an hour later at the hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
