North Aurora Retirement Home Invites Trick-Or-Treaters

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A west suburban retirement home has offered a warm and safe place for trick-or-treating this weekend.

Asbury Gardens in North Aurora was offering candy to ghosts and goblins on Friday and Saturday.

Marketing director Nathan Tiwald said the retirement home recognizes the need for the event on both sides.

"There's plenty of kids out in the neighborhoods that surround our communities that need a safe place that they can come trick-or-treat at; and certainly, for our residents, they absolutely love having an influx of kids, and life, and costumes, and all that," he said.

Tiwald said Asbury Gardens already has received some great responses after posting on their marquee that they're looking for trick-or-treaters. He said they hope it becomes an annual event.
