No Suspect Found After SWAT Team Responds To Barricade Situation In Austin

CHICAGO (STMW) -- The Chicago Police SWAT Team responded to a possible barricade situation Thursday evening in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 400 block of South Laramie at 5:36 p.m. and someone barricaded himself inside a building, according to preliminary information from Chicago Police.

No one was injured in the shooting, police said.

As of 9:30 p.m., investigators had not located the suspect, police said. Additional details were not immediately available.

The CTA's No. 57 Laramie buses were rerouted in both directions in the area, via Laramie, Jackson, Central, Harrison, and Laramie.
