No Bulls On All-NBA Teams, But Pau Gasol Does Garner 2 1st-Team Votes

(CBS) No Bulls were among the 15 players to earn all-NBA honors in balloting that was revealed Thursday.

The all-NBA first team consisted of Warriors guard Steph Curry, Thunder guard Russell Westbrook, Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Clippers center DeAndre Jordan. Curry was a unanimous first-team selection, earning the nod from all 129 voters. He finished with 645 points. James had 637 points, garnering 125 first-team votes and four second-team votes.

The second team consisted of Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard, Clippers guard Chris Paul, Thunder forward Kevin Durant, Warriors forward Draymond Green and Kings center DeMarcus Cousins.

The third team was comprised of Raptors guard Kyle Lowry, Warriors guard Klay Thompson, Pacers forward Paul George, Spurs forward LaMarcus Aldridge and Pistons center Andre Drummond.

Pelicans forward Anthony Davis missed out on making an all-NBA team, a result that cost him nearly $25 million on the max contract he signed last July because he didn't qualify for what's known as the "Derrick Rose Rule." That provision allows players coming off their rookie deals to earn up to 30 percent of the salary cap, instead of 25 percent, if they make two all-NBA teams, are twice voted an All-Star starter or win the MVP in their first four years. Davis had made one all-NBA team and needed to earn that distinction again to get the new contract to kick in at 30 percent of the salary cap.

Bulls big man Pau Gasol garnered 16 points in the voting, including two first-team votes. Those came from TNT's Marv Albert and TNT's Mike Fratello. Bulls wing Jimmy Butler finished with 12 points, including no first-team votes.

Gasol holds a player option on his contract but is expected to decline it and enter free agency.
