New York Groomsman Ends Up Attending Chicago Bachelor Party -- By Himself

(CBS) -- This is bachelor party weekend in Chicago for a groomsman from New York and nine of his friends.

But at least initially the party weekend turned into a party of one -- all documented by lonely selfies on Instagram.

They were planning on seeing the sights of Chi-Town and partying for a long weekend. Robbie Chernow, 28, flew here first. His buddies were to fly out a little later.

"So I knew I'd have a few hours by myself.  I figured I'd get the hotel room and get things ready," he tells WBBM's Steve Miller. "And when I landed, their flights were delayed. And then they were delayed again. And delayed again."

Then they were canceled.

Chernow decided to get the party started – alone.

"The hardest part was actually deciding I was going to do this and walking out of the hotel room at 5:30 last night and saying, 'I'm going to go to the Chicago Bears game by myself. I don't care,'" he says.

He adds: "Once I stepped a foot out, though, everything was pretty easy after that."

Chernow has had deep dish pizza, Italian beef.  He's seen Navy Pier.

"I also went to the top of the John Hancock building, which was fogged out. But other than that it's been great."

And he's made some friends.

"Even though I'm alone, I haven't felt that alone, if that makes any sense," he says.

Chernow says his friends finally arrived in Chicago Friday afternoon for an abbreviated bachelor party weekend.
