New TSA Scanner To Be Unveiled In 2019

CHICAGO (CBS) -- New technology could make it easier to get through airport security.
The TSA is testing a new scanner that could let passengers leave liquids in carry-on luggage. The new scanners produce 3D images so TSA agents can look at the contents from different angles to speed up the screening process.
Right now, it's only in the testing phase. Airport officials expect it to get up and running for passengers after the holidays.
