New COVID Vaccine Site Open In Cicero

CICERO, Ill. (CBS) -- A new COVID-19 Vaccination site opened in Cicero Thursday.

Gov. JB Pritzker and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle toured the center, which is set up inside Morton East High School, at 2423 S. Austin Blvd. in the near western suburb.

Pritzker said Illinois administered a record 56,000 doses Wednesday.

He also announced the state will receive an additional $43 million from the federal government to help with vaccine distribution.
