NEIU Building Will Appear As Different Colors To Nearby Drivers

(CBS) --- A Northeastern Illinois University building set to be finished this summer will appear to be two different colors to drivers passing by on the nearby Kennedy Expressway.

Drivers heading south on the Kennedy between Addison and Belmont will see a gold-tinted building while drivers headed in the opposite direction will see blue. Blue and gold are the school's official colors.

The color effect will be created by external fins ranging in size from 33 to 49 feet.

The 63,000 square foot building will be part of the university's El Centro satellite campus. The building was designed by architect Juan Moreno and his firm JGMA.
