Neighbors Fed Up From News Chopper Noise Near Kennedy Construction

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Some people who live near the bridge project underway over the Kennedy Expressway have just about had it with the TV news coverage, reports WBBM's Mike Krauser.

TV news choppers were over the scene until about 11 p.m. Friday and came back around 5 a.m. Saturday, according to neighbor Joanne, who was unable to get a count of how many.

"I can't see because there are trees over my house. I tried to, but they are very elusive, so I can only hear them," she said. "I can hear them very loud. They woke me up in my bed this morning and I am not a light sleeper."

Joanne says the quality of life of people in the area is affected.

"I feel sorry for anybody in my neighborhood who is trying to have a barbecue because it is going to be really hard to even hear people over all the noise," Joanne said.

She says it is "overkill" and anyone who hasn't been under a rock knows about the project.
