Man Wounded In Near West Side Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot early Friday on the Near West Side.

At 2:41 a.m., the 36-year-old man was going to an ATM in 2300 block of West Madison when a masked male walked up behind him, according to Chicago Police. The victim then punched the masked male, who in turn shot him in the chest.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.
