Dismembered Body Found In Hegewisch Identified As Missing Man

(CBS) -- In the span of two weekends, human remains found at two homes. One in Chicago, the other in Indiana.
As CBS 2's Mai Martinez reports, police in both states believe the cases could be linked.
Last week, Chicago Police discovered a dismembered man's body in the garage of a Hegewisch home. Milan Lekich, a 51-year-old man who had been missing since 2013, used to live in the home. On Tuesday, the body was positively identified as Lekich. His death has been ruled a homicide.
Police believe that this case is linked to human remains found in a home in Fowler, Ind. this past weekend. After human remains were found at a Fowler, Ind. home, investigators spent hours collecting evidence.
Police say they're looking into the possibility that the remains could be those of 68-year-old Nena Metoyer, who's been missing for weeks. Metoyer's daughter, 49-year-old Teresa Jarding,
"I came outside and there were quite a few people outside. They had gloves on they were poking around outside and looking in the trash can," neighbor Amber Shonk says.
Metoyer's daughter, 49-year-old Teresa Jarding, was married to Lekich and lived in the home. Family members say Metoyer was caring for Jarding, who had medical issues.
Jarding died from medical complications after police were called to her home last month and found her in medical distress.
Police aren't saying much about the case, and that worries neighbors.
"The longer they're here, the more anxious we get," Shonk says.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday on the Indiana remains.
