Motorist Shot On Ike: State Police

(CBS) -- Illinois State Police say there's been another shooting on the Eisenhower Expressway – the latest incident on the eastbound Ike as the Cubs rally was going on a few miles away.

It was the 10th shooting on the Eisenhower Expressway so far this year, state authorities say.

Master Sgt. Peter Dimopoulos says troopers were called to the 2300 block of West Taylor about 12:30 p.m., after the driver of a car had been shot a few blocks away while exiting the Eisenhower at Western Avenue.

"The victim was still located in his vehicle. He was shot in the lower back through the door of the vehicle," Dimopoulos says.

The driver's injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The victim told officers that the gunshot may have come from a backseat passenger in a black sedan.

State Police say no one is in custody.  The black sedan apparently continued east on the Eisenhower.
