The crash between the motorcycle and a passenger vehicle happened at 12:53 p.m. at the intersection of Hartford Drive and Roselle Road, Schaumburg Police Sgt. John Nebl said.

Wayne Grothe, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:06 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Grothe lived in the 600 block of Audubon Street in Hoffman Estates, authorities said.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village with minor injuries, he said. There were no passengers in the vehicle.

No charges had been filed as of Monday evening, Nebl said.

Roselle Road was closed between Wise Road and Weathersfield Way until about 7 p.m. as crews investigated the crash, officials said.
