Motorcyclist Killed In I-94 Crash Near Deerfield

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Sunday night on Interstate 94 near north suburban Deerfield, police said.

The motorcycle was traveling westbound about 11:15 p.m. on I-94 between Lake Cook and Deerfield roads when it veered left and struck the media wall, according to a statement from Illinois State Police.

The motorcyclist was killed in the single-vehicle crash, but additional details were not immediately available, police said. No one else was injured.

Police said the motorcycle was speeding at the time.

All westbound lanes of the expressway were temporarily closed to traffic, but all lanes were reopened by about 4:25 a.m., police said.
