Motorcyclist Killed In Eisenhower Crash

(STMW) -A motorcyclist killed in a West Side crash that shut down outbound traffic on the Eisenhower Expressway for four hours Saturday morning has been identified.

Crews responded at 8:42 a.m. to the single-vehicle crash in the outbound lanes of I-290 near Kostner Avenue, according to Illinois State Police.

Christopher R. Shelhamer, 31, was driving the motorcycle that veered into the left wall of the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:59 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office. Shelhamer lived in the 400 block of East Illinois Street in Wheaton.

Outbound traffic was blocked at Kostner until about 1 p.m. as crews cleared the scene.
