Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Kennedy Expressway Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A motorcyclist was critically injured after a crash involving three other vehicles on the inbound Kennedy Expressway (I-90/I-94) Thursday night.

About 9:55 p.m., a motorcyclist was speeding and lost control near Irving Park Road, Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Rodney Collins said.

The motorcycle struck another vehicle in the rear, and its driver was thrown from the bike, Collins said. The driver received critical injuries to his head and spinal cord, he said.

The initial crash caused a chain reaction of collisions involving three other vehicles, but none of the other drivers were injured, Collins said.

Two lanes were closed at 11:45 p.m. for crash reconstruction, but reopened after about an hour.
