Mother, Son Missing From South Lawndale

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Police are asking for the public's help in finding a teenage mother and her 2-year-old son missing for nearly a week from the South Lawndale neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Cynthia Hernandez, 16, and her son Nathan Pena, were last seen in the 2800 block of South Homan Avenue about 7 p.m. on Feb. 9, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

Hernandez is described as a 5-foot-7, 140-pound Hispanic girl with brown eyes, black hair and an olive complexion.

Nathan is described as a 2-foot tall, 50-pound Hispanic boy with brown eyes, black hair and an olive complexion.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
