Mother Hosts 'Night Of Hope' To Help Others Offset Loss
(CBS) -- The mother of a 21-year-old Plainfield woman who was murdered along with her unborn child three years ago is hosting what she's calling a "Night of Hope" later this month in Joliet.
WBBM's Mike Krauser reports.
Sherri Anicich is the mother of Alisha Bromfield.
"I have laid in bed and cried and thought about how she suffered, and I just said this year, 'I'm not going to do that.'"
The Night of Hope Falls on Aug. 19, the anniversary of her daughter's death.
Anicich says it's for people who have experienced loss of any kind.
"One thing I've found helpful is being around people who understand how you feel."
The Night of Hope will be at the Jacob Henry Mansion in Joliet.
"You find one little glimmer of life, of hope, to move forward," she says.
The event is free, but registration is necessary.
