More Details For Minnie Minoso Services Announced

(CBS) Details have been released for White Sox legend Minnie Minoso's memorial service, which will be held Saturday at noon at holy Family Church (just west of St. Ignatius College Prep), 1080 Roosevelt Road in Chicago.

Speakers at the service will be as follows, in order:

Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel
Cook County commissioner John Daley (on behalf of the Daley family)
Dr. Adrian Burgos, historian and author
Zach Strauss (friend of the family)
Howard Pizer (White Sox senior executive vice president)
Bill Pierce (White Sox left-handed legend; former teammate of Minoso)
Charlie Minoso (on behalf of the family)

A processional immediately following the service will pass U.S. Cellular Field, coming south on Shields Avenue and then turning west on 35th Street.

The procession will pass by the home plate of Old Comiskey Park where Minoso used to play, which is located in the parking lot adjacent to U.S. Cellular Field on Shields Avenue and 35th Street.  Fans interested in watching the procession at U.S. Cellular Field are encouraged to gather near the home plate of Old Comiskey Park just west of Gate 5.

A public visitation will be held Friday from noon to 8 p.m. at Holy Family Church as well. Public parking for the visitation and service on Friday and Saturday will be available for $2 at the UIC parking lot on the northeast corner of Roosevelt Road and Morgan.
