Missing Oak Park Woman Found Dead In Forest Park

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A 48-year-old woman who went missing from Oak Park over the weekend was found dead inside a vehicle in an industrial area in west suburban Forest Park, police said.

Alicia H. Yaus had last been seen about 3 p.m. Saturday driving a Volvo station wagon near Chicago and Harlem avenues in Oak Park, according to Oak Park police.

She may have been near Harlem and 16th Street in Berwyn about two hours later, police said.

Officers called Wednesday to a suspicious vehicle parked in a secluded industrial area near 15th Street and Circle Avenue in Forest Park found a vehicle registered to Yaus, with a body matching her description inside, police said.

Yaus, of the 500 block of Forest Avenue in Oak Park, was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:44 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday.

Forest Park police are conducting a death investigation.
